Daring colour: Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour

I have yet to try something from Fenty Beauty that I haven’t liked.

Although I’ve only tried a handful of products, I’ve been seriously impressed with what Rihanna is putting out in her makeup line. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t really set my expectations high when I initially tried out her stuff (she is first and foremost a singer, not a cosmetics pro), but damn, she is killing it lately in the cosmetics game.

One of her first products when she launched the line (if not, the first product) was the Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour in the shade Uncensored, which is billed as the perfect universal red. I don’t particularly love reds, so I haven’t tried it, but have heard amazing things about it. Since I was super curious about her liquid lipsticks (since you guys know I have a slight obsessed with them), I was uber pumped to learn that she recently expanded the shade range to include four new colours, three neutrals and a black.

The Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour is a weightless 12-hour liquid lipstick that dries down to a soft matte finish.  Although the shade range is very small, I’m still sure you can find a shade for you.  You guys know I try out a lot of liquid lip colours, and although most of them do the trick, there are very few that actually stay put all day, through eating, drinking, talking, you name it.  These are one of them.

You apply this incredibly wet liquid lipstick using a unique lip-defining wand, which fits the contours of your lips perfect. I get where they were going with the whole “lip paint” thing as I definitely felt like I was painting on the colour when I applied this (as opposed to the regular mousse formula you would usually see). The shape of the wand makes it so easy and effortless to apply the colour, and once it dries down it doesn’t budge. Seriously, even through eating and drinking, the colour hardly fades.

Brand new to the line are the shades Unbutton (peachy nude), Uncuffed (rosy mauve), Unveil (chocolate brown) and Uninvited (smooth black). The nudes all come in the regular packaging, that is a shiny triangular handle, whereas Uninvited comes in a matte black cap with a glow-in-the-dark packaging (perfect for Halloween!).

Since I am obsessed with nudes, Unbutton is my favourite, but I have been wearing the other colours as well since they are incredibly fall appropriate and they stay on nicely. I don’t typically wear black lipstick, but since I have a number of black liquid lip colours, I can tell you that this one goes on the best. I find that with the darker shades they are trickier to get them looking completely opaque, that is no streakiness on the lips. This one does it, and then once it’s set, it’s set. You may see some wear along the inner lip region, but compared to others I have tried (Kat Von D, Rimmel London), this is the best one, hands down.

If you can’t tell already, I absolutely love these. I think this is one of the best formulas out there when it comes to liquid lipsticks, and can’t wait until they release more colours (maybe a more pale nude, or a baby pink, or a baby pink/nude? C’mon Rihanna!).  These retail for C$30 each, so on point with other liquid lip colours in the same category.

Next time you’re in Sephora, you need to give these a swatch (or just press “add to cart”!).

Have you tried the Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colours?

Please note, I was sent these products from PR. All opinions are my own.
