It’s a scandal! Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks

title scandaleyes

Ever since I learned about the magic of a good eyeshadow primer, setting a base underneath my shadow has become part of my daily routine.

I recently got to try Rimmel London’s new ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks, which are available at the drugstore.  I have seen these in stores but have been more fascinated with the new ScandalEyes eyeliners more so than these.  Maybe because these are in stick form rather than potted, but they never really stood out to me.

The concept is similar to NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencils in that they are creamy colour that you paint on.  The Rimmel version is waterproof and has 24-hour staying power, so these pack a lot of punch.

Alright, so just because it’s marketed as being 24 hours doesn’t mean that it necessarily will last for that long.  I have tried three colours from the line, 005 Tempting Turquiose, 004 Guilty Grey, and 001 Witness White, and have been super impressed with all three.  The colours are so pigmented and just glide on your lids.  They are also smudgable and blendable; however, you have to work fast because they set after a few minutes. I love using the white as a highlight on my brow bone or in the inner corner of my eye.  I have used the grey as a smoky eye (apply all over your lids then smudge out), and the blue as a pop of colour along my lower lash line.  They do last a while, but I found they tend to crease after some wear, and just because they market the product as 24 hours, the colour will not look at all similar to how it looked when it was first applied.

Overall, I am super impressed with this product as you can wear them so many different ways and the consistency is really fabulous.  The colour can be worn on its own or as a base.  The only qualm I can think about with these is the fact that they aren’t retractable, so therefore you need a jumbo pencil sharpener, and when you sharpen it you lose some product.  This, of course, is a little thing, and really, for C$6.99, it’s nothing to write home about.  Love them, highly recommend ’em.

Have you tried Rimmel London’s ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks?  What were your thoughts?

Please note, I was sent these products for review purposes.  All opinions are my own.
