In a bind over what to get mom this Mother’s Day?
I remember when I was a kid my mom would order Avon items for us all the time. As I grew older, I started to explore other brands, but Avon will forever be that OG brand of skincare and makeup that reminds me of my mom. That’s why today’s post is just perfect for Mother’s Day.
Avon has a number of different affordable options available to gift mom this year. My favourite item, hands down is their new blush palette, the Iconic Blooming Blush Palette (C$14.99), which features four cheek-friendly shades in a slim palette. Open the lid to reveal four blushes, all embossed with a beautiful floral design. At $15, this palette is incredibly affordable and would pair well with other Avon items or even flowers to gift along with this.
If you’re looking to keep it strictly to makeup, then I highly recommend you pair the blush palette with their Iconic Lipstick in pink (C$12, on sale for C$6!). This lipstick comes in the cutest packaging and leaves you with a shimmery frosted pink shade that is super flattering on the lips. This lipstick is also super buttery to wear and will instantly become mom’s favourite shade.
Finally, you really can’t go wrong with a fragrance. Complete the set with Avon’s Flourish Honey Blossom Eau de Perfum spray (C$30, on sale for C$19.99!).
This perfum comes house in a beautiful floral bottle and has notes of apple blossom, lively honeysuckle nectar, and radiance vanilla orchid. It smells like the start of summer and every time mom wears it she’ll instantly think of you.
The best part, for me, about Avon products is the nostalgia that my mom used to order us Avon as a kid, and with these stunning items, you can really help celebrate that it’s come full circle with the brand. Not only are these products truly beautiful in person and applied, but they are also super affordable to pick up.

Looking for an out-of-this-world glow? Then you need to take a look at Charlotte Tilbury’s Glowgasm collection.
Glowgasm, which came out earlier this spring, features three Beauty Light Wands and a face palette. The collection is designed to give you an ethereal glow that radiates skin.
The Beauty Light Wands (C$50 each or available as a set for C$132) aren’t new to the line, but Tilbury released three new shades for this collection. These are a liquid highlight/blush product that is in a squeeze tube which you can apply to your face either with your fingers or directly from the rounded brush. The three shades are Goldgasm, a golden highlighter aimed to give you that soft-focused, candle-lit glow; Pinkgasm, a glowing high blush designed to give you rosy pink cheeks; and Peachgasm, which delivers pinky-peach colour to the cheeks with a wash of a sun-kissed glow.
I did find all three colours to be quite similar in shade and also expected them to be a bit more shimmery on the skin. The applicator makes it super easy to apply these to the cheeks and cheekbones since your squeeze them to allow the product to be dispensed in the sponge. I’m used to an out-of-this-world highlighter, but these are more of a subtle touch, which is great for those who don’t wear highlighters often or are looking for a more natural, flushed look. Since these are a liquid formula, they are perfect for summertime since I tend to gravitate more towards creams and liquids since they are more comfortable to wear on the skin as opposed to powder.
If powder if more your jam though, then you need to look into the Glowgasm Face Palette (C$95), which are two stunning palettes filled with two highlighters, a blush, and a bronzer for the ultimate cheek palette.
First off, this palette is stunning to look at. The outside of it features a beautiful crystal appearance and inside the products are designed to be eye-catching when opened. I received LoveGasm, which is the darker of the palettes. As for the powders themselves, there is a soft champagne (Light It), a rose gold highlight to layer up with (Glow It), a rosy blush (Pop It), and a neutral cocoa blush to contour (Bronze It).
Compared to other face palettes I own, I do have to say that you may want to go in with a heavy hand when using this. The powders are very sheer, which is great if you don’t want to go too overboard, but I found I had to really get my brush in there in order to see the colour on my skin. I think what they were trying to do with this palette is give you the effect of a filter, so it just subtly makes your skin that much better.
For those CT diehards, I would recommend purchasing both a Beauty Light Wand and the palette to really layer on the glow. I found I didn’t get the most blinding highlight from this collection, but that’s okay since that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I think that this collection is perfect to have since it gives you more of a refined, everyday kind of glow that really will never go out of style.

I’ve been a fan of the Buxom Full-On Plumping Glosses for a while now, and although I don’t own many of them it’s always been high on my list on lip glosses that plump your lips up to their full potential.
I actually have lip fillers, but sometimes you want those suckers to feel even larger, and that’s where this product comes in. Best of all, these new colours have the most amazing scent to them which will instantly transport you somewhere hot (all while not even leaving your couch… sigh).
The Wanderlust Full-On Plumping Lip Gloss Creams (C$26) are everyone’s favourite gloss with new vivid, vacay-ready colours in a shiny finish. The formula contains hyaluronic acid booster and a peptide complex to help plump lips up for that filler effect. If you are not a fan of the usual tingling sensation a lip plumper gives you then you’ll want to skip these since these are the queen of the tingle. They tingle so hard that you can feel your lips inflating. They also have a minty fresh feeling as well that makes your mouth seem like you just brushed your teeth.
Anyways, the real selling factor for me with these is the actual scent. Slather these on for a coconut flavour that tastes like you’re sipping a pina colada. Honestly, if you’re looking for the perfect summer beauty product, this is it.
These glosses are available in six shades (they are all currently sold out on Sephora’s site at the moment) and I received three of them, Havana Punch (rose), Ibiza Bomb (pink), and Dolly Daiquiri (absolute mauve). At first glance, they are all look very pink in the bottle, some of which lean more towards a darker shade, but when you swipe them on, they give you a nice creamy, glossy finish that is so pleasant to wear and beautiful on the lips.
I really love these glosses and if you can get your hands on one I would definitely recommend including them to your collection. I get that plumping glosses are not for everyone, especially since the formula may not be pleasant for everyone, but if you are into that sort of thing then I definitely recommend picking up a shade of their Wanderlust ones since the scent is so delectable and totally is the perfect summer gloss to wear in these upcoming months.
