Unbreakable: Why you need to try Sheertex

We’ve all been there.

You have your dress set out, the perfect shoes to wear with it, and your hair and makeup is all done. You reach into your dresser to pull a pair of stockings out, you bunch up one of the legs and sit down to put them on. You slip the stockings onto your feet and you start to pull them up when you notice a snag. To make matters worse, they are your only pair and you don’t have time to get a fresh pair of tights.

I think we can all understand that struggle. Seriously, stockings can be the most frustrating things ever and they really are super disposable. But what if there was a solution for this problem? A pair of stockings that won’t break, snag, or wear out? Well friends, there is such a thing. And best of all, it’s a Canadian product.

Sheertex classics in black

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen me talking a lot about Sheertex, which is indestructible pantyhose that won’t rip, snag, or break. Sounds too good to be true right? I thought so true, and then I tried them.

The Sheertex story starts with Canadian Katherine Homuth, who went through an 18-month research and development process to create a pair of unbreakable stockings. She ended up working with suppliers to develop a uniquely strong polymer, which is often found in ballistic materials and climbing gear. The stockings are so strong that they say that are similar to the materials that are used in bullet-proof vests.

Anyways, after receiving my first pair of them I was instantly sold. Although they do come in a variety of different options, colours, and prints, my favourites are the Classic Sheers (C$81), which are available in five sizes and three different lengths. You can also get them in six different colours – black, light, medium, dark, navy, charcoal. I have two pairs in the medium colour, which is a lighter shade with a hint of tan. I initially ordered them in medium, but did find they stretched out a little bit so I reordered in small and find the small to be the perfect fit.

These are great since you basically slip them on like tights; you don’t have to be careful AT ALL since they won’t rip. Sheertex also sends each package with a mini test stocking so you can see how indestructible they really are.

I also have a pair in the Shaping Sheers (C$81), which have a control-top waist and accentuate your curves. These are available in five sizes and four shades – black, light, medium, and dark. I have them in black so I can wear them to the office and love them. The control top does look like shorts though, so if you are wearing something shorter, you may find they will peek through underneath, so just something to keep in mind.

If you are wanting to try out a pair of Sheertex yourself and are worried about the price, I get it. C$81 is a lot of money, especially for stockings, but as someone who has tried them, I guarantee that you will get your money’s worth, especially since you won’t have to purchase stockings after these. These really are all you’ll need since they will not break and I guarentee you, you will definitely get your money’s worth.
