Bedroom eyes: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette and Eyeliner

If you haven’t caught onto my love for Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk, well now you know.

What started as just a pinky-nude lipstick colour soon spanned into many different items in her collection. For me personally, I have the lipstick, the lip liner, the eyeshadow quad, and the blush, and my love for all of the products is so real.

Even though I have so many eyeshadows and palettes in my collection, her Pillow Talk Luxury Palette is definitely one of my most used since it has such pretty, wearable, everyday shades in it. There’s only four colours, but the shades she chose for this palette are so wearable that you really can transition this from day to night and wear it for pretty much any life event.

Since I love the quad so much, imagine my surprise when I saw she launched a 12-shade palette, the Instant Eye Palette (C$95), which has shades that are complementary to her iconic Pillow Talk.

This rose gold palette opens up to 12 shades that are separated into four different looks, Day, Desk, Date, Dream, with the shadows coming in matte, soft, and metallic pearl finishes.

The thing that really makes this palette stand out is actually the formula. The shadows contain her Diamond Powder, which infuses a jewel-like light and clarity to the eyes, creating a natural-looking glow.  The matte shadows also contain coated pigments with silicones for a soft and smooth application, as well as emollient oils for precise blendability. The metallic pearl shades have coated pigments for a soft, cushiony feel and emollient esters for a comfortable to wear feel.  The colours go on fabulously and blend out perfectly.

Although the palette is split up into four different looks, I love mixing different shades from each trio to create just about any makeup look I could possibly want. Since I love the quad already, having eight more Pillow Talk-inspired shades to play around with really makes this palette super versatile for me.

At C$95, it’s definitely a splurge, but Charlotte Tilbury products tend to run on the higher end in general, and if you have her quad but wish there were more colours, then I really think you’ll love this.

If you want to take the Pillow Talk look a bit further, then take a look at her new Pillow Talk Eyeliner as well (C$34).  This eyeliner is a smoky berry-brown shade that pairs perfectly with the palette or any brown or pink-toned shadows.

This is the first eyeliner I have tried from Charlotte Tilbury and I do have to say that I really like the formula of it. I don’t typically reach for pencils that often (I prefer a liquid liner), but I really do like the creamy feel of this.  The colour also goes on matte and I found that it applied opaque on the first swipe.

Both of these products are quite the splurge, and truthfully, as much as I love the eyeliner as well, for C$34, I think it is on the pricey side. The palette is also quite expensive, but if you have blue eyes like me, then I think you’ll really love this palette since it contains colours that will really make your eyes pop. The formula in the shadows is top-notch and the shade range is also jaw dropping.

The Charlotte Tilbury website says that the Instant Eye Palette is limited edition, but I don’t think this is going to be going anywhere anytime soon since I’m sure it’s going to be a hit (if it isn’t already!). Plus, I find that anything Pillow Talk really does become quite popular, so if you are already a fan of the shade, then you’ll probably want to add these products to your collection as well.
