Live colourfully: L’Occitane x OMY collection

I love it when two brands from different industries collide, releasing a limited-edition collection that combines the best of both worlds. Such is the case with L’Occitane en Provence’s new collection with French illustrators OMY.

Now if you are like me and had never heard of OMY before, it’s a company by Elvire Laurent & Marie-Cerise Lichtlé, two French illustrators who have a line of products such as maps that you can colour in, pens, totes, stationary, etc. The collection with L’Occitane features certain products in packaging that is adorned with colourful illustrations that celebrate Provence in the city.  The collection features special packaging on some of the brand’s favourite products, as well as their Shea line, which highlights iconic elements that represent the brand’s mission and passion for nature and biodiversity.

L’Occitane sent me a number of items from the collection, and first off, I had to mention how cute everything is.  The products are the same but the packaging features OMY designs, some of which is coloured in (the rest is up to you to colour in). I know it’s totally gimmicky, but I’m such a sucker for cute packaging, so although this is the first time I have ever heard of OMY, I am all about this collection.

The collection in general centres around their Shea line (perfect for winter), but new to this range is the limited-edition Violet x OMY line of products. These goodies, which feature a light hand cream and light body cream, smells delightful and are designed to soothe the senses.

Although there are an abundance of products to choose from, I really love the OMY Shea Body Care set (C$84), which includes four classic Shea Butter products. Their shea butter is sustainably sourced from the women of Burkina Faso, a country in west Africa.  Included in here is the Shea Body Shower Cream (8.4 fl. oz.), Extra Gentle Soap Milk (net weight 3.5 oz.), Shea Butter Hands Violet Scent Ultra Light Cream (net weight 0.6 oz.), and Shea Butter Ultra Light Body Cream Violet Scent (net weight 4.5 oz.). All the products come housed in a L’Occitane x OMY box which includes two markers so you can colour in the illustrations on the box.

This set includes some limited-edition products that are exclusive to this set, such as the OMY Extra-Gentle Soap Milk (regular retail price is C$9). This body soap is enriched with Shea, and produces a light, creamy lather which cleanses the body.

There is also a manicure set (C$79), a shea discovery set (C$39), as well as a few different sets and single items to choose from.  My favourite of the bunch is definitely the Shea X OMY Hand Cream (C$34), which is a large hand cream that contains highly concentrated shea butter (20 per cent). I find that in the winter months I have to always carry a hand cream with me, so this has definitely come in handy.  This cream absorbs nicely and quickly into the skin and helps to nourish, protect, and soften the hands.  Other ingredients include honey, almond extracts, and coconut oil to leave hands feeling soft and nourished.

Finally, the last item they sent was the Shea X OMY Ultra Rich Body Cream (C$50), which is perfect for our prairie winters. This cream is geared towards extremely dry skin and is made with 25 per cent shea butter to deliver lasting hydration for up to 72 hours.  I love applying my moisturizers at night since I like to wake up to moisturized skin.

L'Occitane OMY Hand Cream

I’m already a big fan of L’Occitane so I knew I would really enjoy this collection. Although there are some limited-edition items in the collection, for the most part it’s all stuff in the regular line, just in more fun packaging.

Like I said, I’m such a sucker for branding, so if there are some items in here that you already use, I would recommend picking up some of these limited-edition items to keep in your collection for later (but really, who doesn’t need a stock pile of moisturizers anyways?).

Will you be purchasing anything from the L’Occitane x OMY collection?

Please note, products sent by PR. All opinions are my own.
