Buildable volume: Lancome Hypnose Custom-Wear Volume Mascara

I’ve always had a thing for Lancome mascaras.

I remember even before I started blogging and basically the Sears Canada makeup department was my go-to for beauty needs, I always lusted after the Lancome mascaras. When they released the original Hypnose it totally changed the game and they have come out with so many different versions of the classic ever since then.

Although there are a few different versions of Hypnose mascaras at the moment, one that came out a few years back is the Hypnose Custom Volume Mascara. This mascara is a volumizing and buildable mascara that promises not to clump or flake and gives you up to six-times the volume of natural lashes.

What really makes this mascara stellar is the formula. It is enriched with pro-vitamin B5 and something called SoftSculpt, which coats every lash evenly without clumping. The texture has soft, emollient waxes and the brand’s unique PC/PA polymers, which leave eyelashes feeling soft, not hard, and also clump free.

The brush on this mascara has 1,000 sensor bristles which coat the lashes evenly and throughly, leaving lashes looking long, soft, and voluminous.

I’ve tried a few different Hypnose mascaras through the years and compared to a few other ones I’ve experienced in the past, I would say that this one is on the lighter side. My favourite is Hypnose Drama, and although that one gives you intense, dramatic lashes, this one is a little lighter and is a great everyday mascara.

At C$36 a pop, Lancome Hypnose Custom Volume is definitely is an investment, but I think it would be a great one to have in your collection if you are looking for something that you can transition from day to night.

I also want to note that it comes in three shades, black, brown, and extreme black, so you can definitely customize how you want your lashes to look.. no pun intended.
