Gifts that make you go “OMG!”: Holiday sets from Ole Henriksen
Skincare… always a great gift idea.
As mentioned in my skincare holiday round up last week, when it comes to the perfect time to pick up new skincare items, or stock up on favourites, the holidays are the best time of the year to do this.
Pretty much every brand has come out with limited-edition holiday sets that give you an assortment of products to try at a really affordable price. Typically there are a few different sets to choose from within a certain brand and it might be tough to narrow down which set might be best for you and your skin tone.
If you are a fan of Ole Henriksen then you’re in luck, there are tons of sets to gift and receive this season and each one is customized to different skincare concerns. If you love Ole Henriksen, or just want to try it out for the first time, here are my top picks on what to pick up this season.
OMG (Oh My Glow) Brightening Set
If your skin is looking a little dull, then look no further than Ole Henriksen’s OMG Brightening Set (C$64, valued at C$123).
This set, which is perfect for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin, helps to turn back the clock on dullness and uneven texture, fine lines and wrinkles, and dryness. Included in the set is a 15ml of the Banana Bright Face Primer, a 7ml of the Banana Bright Eye Creme, a 15ml of the C-Rush Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer, and a 30ml of the Truth Serum.
The ingredients in all these products help to target visible signs of aging (vitamin C), help improve skin’s elasticity (collagen), and illuminate the skin (banana powder-inspired pigments).
The value for this set is incredible since you get a full-size of the Truth Serum plus deluxe samples of the other products for only C$64 (which is the same price as the 30ml Truth Serum!). Their Banana Bright Eye Cream and Face Primer are both instant cult-classics, so I recommend picking this up if you were curious about any of these products.
ASAP (As Smooth As Possible) Age-Fighting Set
If having more youthful-looking skin is more your jam, then take a look at their ASAP (As Smooth As Possible) Age-Fighting Set ($56 USD, valued at $80).
This three-piece set includes items that are targeted for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin, and are designed to fight dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and dullness and uneven texture.
Included in the set is a 50ml of the Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT Sleeping Creme, a 65 ml of the Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner, and a 7ml of the Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum. These products contain high-potency AHAs to even out skin tone and texture and help reduce the appearance of dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles; Bakuchiol, which is a plant-based retinol alternative that helps even out skin tone, smooth texture, and target fine lines and wrinkles; as well as Edelweiss Stem Cell to promote firmness and improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
I love the items that the brand chose to include in this set. You get a mini of the Dark Spot toner, which is amazing, as well as a full-size of the Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT Sleeping Creme, and a mini of the Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum.
LOL (Lots of Luminosity) set
If you’re looking to gift something a little more affordable, then take a look at the LOL (Lots of Luminosity) Set (C$20).
This set is considerably smaller than the other two and is designed for those who travel, or are just interested in trying out some Ole Henriksen products. Included in the little pouch is a 15ml of the C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème, as well as 10 of the Truth on the Glow Cleansing Cloths.
This set is perfect for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin, and is targeted for dullness and uneven texture, dryness, and fine lines and wrinkles. The included ingredients in the products help to target visible signs of aging (vitamin C), hydrates and softens skin (jojoba seed oil), and is rich in antioxidants to nourish and condition skin (rose of winter extract).
Although you don’t get a ton of product in this particular set, I think it would be a great stocking stuffer since who doesn’t need makeup-removing wipes and a travel moisturizer? I do prefer the other sets over this one, but at only C$20, you can’t go wrong with that price!
Ole Henriksen has a few other sets to choose from for the holidays and at these prices, I highly recommend picking one or two up (even if it’s for yourself!). I also want to note that Ole Henriksen is a clean vegan beauty brand, so you really can’t go wrong with any of their products.
