Moisture mania: Bioderma Hydrabio skincare line

I’ve had a soft spot for Bioderma for years now.

In case you haven’t tried their micellar solution, I’m not sure if it’s the first one, but it’s definitely the most well known version of the water-based makeup remover.

Of course, when it comes to Bioderma, makeup remover isn’t the only product they carry in their arsenal of products. The brand actually has a few different lines to accommodate different skin concerns, such as their Hydrabio line, which is targeted for dehydrated sensitive skin.

The Hydrabio line is designed to add in water back into the skin, therefore helping the skin improve its natural process of hydration. They do this by the five different products that each do different things to help bring back that H2O levels to the skin.

First noteworthy product I want to mention is the Hydrabio H2O (C$19.90), which is the micellar water in this line.  This product uses micelles, which are molecules with fatty acid esters that capture impurities while respecting the balance and phospholipids of your skin membrane. That’s a lot of science right there, but basically, it doesn’t strip your skin or leave it feeling dry, and it helps take off your makeup and then add back in moisture. Think of it as a really good makeup remover that won’t dry out your face.

If you need a little more moisture in your life, then the Atoderm Nourishing Cream (C$13.90) would be right up your alley.  Since we are heading into colder weather, this moisturizer is great for reinforcing the skin’s barrier through moisturizing. It contains vaseline and glycerin, which softens and moisturizers skin and it also traps water in the upper layers of the skin, which then works for 24 hours.

Another star product to consider is the Hydrabio Gel-Cream (C$29.90), which smoothes out dehydration and wrinkles. The formula contains a number of star ingredients to generate long-lasting moisture in the skin and help to add radiance back, which prevents signs of aging.

Finally, Bioderma has a brand-new product to add to their Hydrabio line up, which is the Hydrabio Mist (C$13.90), a dermatological water mist to help soothe skin and provide quick moisture to the skin.

I love these mists in general, so when I got this one in the mail I was so excited to give it a try since these are a really nice treat on the skin. It sprays out the perfect amount of product to really give your skin – and mood – a boost. Best of all is what it actually does for you.  If you have any irritation at all (such as hair removal, razor burn, sunburn, etc.) it will help alleviate any feelings of discomfort.  It also has a unique composition to increase the skin’s tolerance threshold in the event of external stress and the ingredients quickly relieves skin.

If you haven’t tried Bioderma products yet, now is definitely a great time to get your hands on some since there are so many stellar skincare products to choose from, especially as we are heading into colder weather.
