Sweet like candy: Dior 5 Couleurs Lolli’ Glow Limited Edition eyeshadow palettes

Looking to add a little luxury to your eyeshadow collection?

I blogged about some new highlighters and bronzers last week from Dior and to complete the look you may want to pair one of their new Lolli’Glow eyeshadow palettes to the mix as well.

Available in two shades, the Dior 5 Couleurs Lolli’ Glow Limited Edition eyeshadow palettes (C$74) are the perfect chance to add some spring pastels into your makeup collection. Each palette comes with a luxurious velvet pouch and opens up to five complementary shades in pastel colours with a candy stick motif embossed into the shadows.

Mellow Shade is a more blue- and yellow-toned palette with a blend of lemon, pistachio, and peach, whereas Sugar Shade is a chocolate/strawberry duo with an icy blue mixed in. Between the two I do prefer Sugar Shade more since I typically gravitate more towards pinks, but if you have brown eyes I think that Mellow Shade would look absolutely stunning on (I did like this one too, but if I had to choose one, I would pick Sugar Shade).

Since there are five colours in here, it’s easy to create a variety of different looks. For the most part, when I took the photos below, I used all the shades except one. I like the variety that Dior gives you and love the pastels since it’s so appropriate for both spring and summer.

As for pigmentation, I will note that these are not my favourite shadows. I have eyeshadow palettes that apply much more pigmented than these, but if you are going for a more subtle look or if you don’t typically wear a lot of makeup and like something lighter, then these are definitely for you.

Since these are Dior, you can find them at Hudson’s Bay, Nordstrom, Shopper’s Beauty Boutique, and Holt Renfrew here in Canada. In terms of eyeshadow palettes, I would probably skip these since they are so pricey and the pigmentation of the shadow wasn’t my favourite. If you are a luxury beauty lover though and go nuts for Dior Beauty items, then I would look into adding these into your collection, they really are both beautiful.

While you’re at it, you may want to look into pairing the shadows with one of their liquid eyeliners as well.

The DiorShow On Stage Liquid Eyeliner (C$35) is available in a plethora of different shades and is a waterproof eyeliner that offers up to 24 hours of wear. The liner has a hybrid tip that meshes together a felt-tip pen with the suppleness of a brush. It’s stiff enough to give you a precise line, but flexible enough to really paint the colour on nicely.

I received this in Matte Pastel Orange and although I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards an orange eyeliner its more of a pink creamsicle shade. When it comes to coloured liners, I love to layer them on top of my usual black or brown, but for the purposes of this review, I actually just used it on it’s own and paired with some black mascara, this makes your eyes really pop.

These liners are available in three finishes, vinyl, matter, and pearl, and really do last a long time on the lids. I would love to try this in black one day to really get some good wear out of it, but the matte pastel orange is definitely a unique colour in my collection and I’ll be rocking it with some cute looks multiple times this summer.

As you can see in the above photo, the colour is super subtle and adds just enough pop to really make the look stand out. It’s something that is unique and different and I’m kinda digging it this season.

I am loving all the pastel shades that Dior has recently come out with in their beauty line and it’s totally inspiring me to fully take advantage of getting out and enjoying this nice weather. All I need is a pretty floral dress and a straw purse and I’m all set!
