Bright + glowing: The products from Revolution Beauty London you need for spring

I’m always down to get behind an affordable makeup line.

I get to try out so many drugstore brands, and over the years, I’ve seen so many lines create great products that really rival their more luxury counterparts.  One brand that has always impressed me but is a little bit harder to find is Revolution Beauty London.

In case you don’t know about Revolution Beauty London, it was formerly named Makeup Revolution, and it’s a brand found at drugstores for super affordable prices.  I first learned about it at the London Drugs Fall Beauty Preview two years ago and after last year’s event, they sent me a box of products to try out for spring (well I guess technically fall, but beauty has no boundaries, am I right?).

I’ve always been super impressed with their cute eyeshadow palettes and killer highlights, so when I opened the box to find a couple palettes in there I was over the moon to try them out.

First up is their Reloaded eyeshadow palette in Neutrals 2. There are a ton of different Reloaded palettes to choose from, but since neutrals are near and dear to my heart, I couldn’t wait to bust this out and give it a try.

Retailing for an affordable C$9.99, this palette contains 15 shades in matte and shimmer finishes. There are tons of champagnes, pinks, browns, and burnt oranges to choose from, making this palette perfect for everyday wear. Each shade is opaque and blends out perfectly. Considering how affordable this palette is priced at, it truly is great quality. I would even compare it to a palette you can pick up at Sephora for $60+.

Revolution Makeup London Face Quad in Incandescent

Speaking of palettes, I’ve been a huge fan of their highlighters for years now, so when I laid eyes on the Face Quad in Incandescent (C$19.99), I knew I would instantly love it.

This silver-foiled palette opens up to four highlighters that allow you to highlight and enhance your best features.  There are four colours to choose from in here, silver, gold, rose gold, and shimmery pink. Considering the price for all four of these would be less than the price for one highlighter, this is a must for any makeup lover. I also want to note that the size of this palette is also quite large, so the product in here will last you a long time.

Revolution Makeup London Renaissance Flick Eyeliner

Back to the eyes, I was also excited to receive the Renaissance Flick Eyeliner (C$11.99), which is a black liquid liner in a rose gold pen that allows you to seamlessly create the perfect    cat eye.  It features an ultra-fine tip that is stiff, so it is sturdy while you are applying it.  It also sets fast and doesn’t smudge, flake, or transfer, which is always a concern for me when I apply eyeliner.  The size of the product is also compact, making it easy for travel or days where you need to throw some makeup in your bag since you slept through your alarm.

I also want to note that Revolution Makeup London also has some amazing powders, including a banana powder for baking that I can’t wait to try out. I have a number of items from their line and although they don’t usually come top of mind since their availability is very limited, I am always so impressed with everything I try out by them. The items don’t perform like a typical affordable makeup line (they’re better!), although with that being said, I think the idea of drugstore beauty has quickly changed in the past few years now that brands are coming out with stellar products that perform way better than their low price points.
