Rad colour: Rimmel London Stay Satin liquid lip colour

You guys know I love the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lipcolours.

I love them so much that when I got this awesome Rimmel PR package which included 14 new shades of these bad boys, I got super excited. And then I realized that they were actually the brand’s new Stay Satin formula.

The Rimmel London Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colours are new for fall (find them in drugstores starting this month) and include 14 shades inspired by the ’80s. This collection is billed to deliver high-intensity colour, a bold satin finish, and long-lasting and comfortable eight-hour wear.  All that in one stroke.

Okay, so you may be wondering, what exactly is a satin finish and how does it differ from matte. Well, satin falls right smack dab in the middle of a gloss and a matte. It’s not really shiny, but it’s not a true matte either. Instead you’re left with a slight sheen in texture.

Rimmel as amazing and sent me all the shades and just by looking at each colour, I couldn’t wait to dive in and play. As mentioned, the colours are inspired by the ’80s, but don’t worry, there’s lots of wearable ones in here too (Atomic, Obsession, For Sure, and Glam Rock is super ’80s). Also, the names in this collection are like, totally rad, and you’ll be pulling them out just to say you’re wearing “Take a Chill Pill”.

The colour is applied via the same doe foot application that the Stay Matte formula comes in (actually it looks to be the same packaging as well). Upon swatching these, the claims do ring true, bold colour is applied in just one swipe, which is amazing, especially on the darker colours. You guys know me and know I love the nudes, so I’ve been gravitating towards the lighter shades in the collection, but all of them are just so stunning and bold in real life. As for how they look, they aren’t as matte as the Stay Matte formula, but honestly, I don’t see that big of a difference between the two. I do want to note that I did find these to be a bit sticky on the inner lip area, but it’s not the most uncomfortable wear.

All in all, I highly recommend these, both for wearability (they do last a long time) and colour range. I love that Rimmel includes a full rainbow of colours, that I’m sure you’ll be hard pressed to find just one you like. These retail for C$8.99 each, so at that price I totally like, recommend picking up a few of these super rad shades.
