All of the lights: Silk’n releases Titan anti-aging device for tightening and lifting

When it comes to skincare, I don’t mess around.

Having a young-looking face is a priority for me. I’m 29, but I want to look like I’m 24, and for the most part, I think I’m doing a pretty good job (when I travel, I often get ID’d). In addition to a cleanser and moisturizer, I also always use a toner, serum, and eye cream every day and night, and I try to do a face mask every few weeks.

Sometimes though I like to take it up an extra notch and use light therapy that will help with tightening and lifting. Although I have tried some light therapy devices in the past, I’m excited to try out a device I just received to make my skin look more top notch.

I’ve used Silk’n products before and always enjoyed the technology from the brand. They have everything from at-home hair removal products to anti-cellulite devices, and since the brand is available in stores, they are quite easy to find (I’ve seen it at Shoppers Drug Mart and London Drugs). The Titan is one of the newest inventions and it helps to reverse the effects of gravity as we age.

Okay, so think of your face as a road. When you’re born, your face is like a freshly-paved road, it’s perfect, smooth, no signs of aging. As the road gets older, the pavement starts to break down and lines and cracks appear. Same with our faces, except those lines and cracks are wrinkles and lines. The Titan, which has been clinically tested and FDA cleared and Health Canada approved, safely tightens facial skin from the inside out, reducing wrinkles by repairing the collagen in our face (think of collagen as concrete or asphalt, that’s what breaks down in our skin). So how does it do this? The Titan harmonizes the benefits of three sources of energy: Bi-Polar RF energy, LED light energy and IR heat energy. The powerful combination of these three energy sources creates a safe, painless and proven result. After regular use, skin should appear more lifted, making you look younger and your skin looking more glowy.

Just like how Rome wasn’t built in a day, you won’t see results after one use. Like any other beauty device out there, these things take time. I’ll be testing this gadget out for the next 10 weeks and report back in the new year on my results.

The Collagen and Elastin Remodeling (CER) energy penetrates into the skin stimulating cell renewal, making your skin tight and supple again. Since I have pretty good skin already, I want to keep it that way, so I’ll be testing this device out focusing around my eye and mouth area. Silk’n mentions that there are five or six zones on the face (including the neck), and since they recommend to use the device for 10 to 15 minutes per zone twice a week, that’s a lot of time I would have to commit to using this. Instead, I’ll be picking a couple zones and switching off the days using the device. So for example, I’ll do the eye area Monday and Wednesdays and then the mouth area Tuesdays and Thursdays. Silk’n recommends using the Titan for two sessions a week for 10 weeks and after that, treat the area once every two weeks to maintain results.

Like I said, I have used similar devices before, but am really excited to try this one out since it comes with the Silk’n Slider Gel, which is required to carry out the treatments. It’s important to apply a thin layer of gel to the skin before the start of the treatment, since without it, the device will not work. The water-based product not only moisturizes, but also helps to guide the device and ensures that it moves easily over the skin and prevents it from overheating and reddening (although I will say that, having used other devices, a little redness is totally normal).

I’ll be starting the treatments this week and sharing my experiences with using the device in the new year, so stay tuned for my final thoughts and after photos. If you have used the Titan please let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear your experiences with the device.

Please note, I am working with Silk’n on this campaign promoting the Titan. All opinions are my own.
