Squeaky clean: L’Oreal Paris Pure-Clay Daily Cleansers and Pure-Clay Comforting and Unifying Mask

Now that we are heading into the fall season, it’s super important that we take good care of our skin. Since the cooler weather typically also means drier air, keeping my skin in tip-top shape is super top of mind right now.

Since I love doing the occasional mask, especially one that is a clay texture, I was super pumped to try out the new L’Oreal Paris Pure-Clay Daily Cleansers, their first range of daily clay-to-mousse cleansers. Available in three formulas with an SRP of C$12.99 each, these are formulated with three pure clays — kaolin, montmorillonite, and moroccan clays — and one unique ingredient to target specific skincare issues. Each formula is designed to effectively remove everyday impurities, boost skin quality and improve texture, all without overdrying the face.

I received all three formulas, green, red, and black. The green one, the Pure-Clay Purifying and Mattifying Cleanser, has eucalyptus in it to target clogged pores and mattify oily skin. The red one, Pure-Clay Exfoliating and Refining Cleanser, contains red algae that minimizes large pores and evens out rough skin for a smoother, healthier and firmer complexion. Finally, the black one, the Pure-Clay Energizing and Brightening Cleanser, has charcoal in it to transform dull and tired skin by energizing it, leaving it cleansed and radiant.

I have tried all out three, both just with the product alone and with the use of a face brush like my Clarisonic Mia, and these do the trick quite well. They don’t lather up as much as some of my other gel cleansers do, but they really do wash the face wonderfully and leave it feeling fresh and radiant. I think my favourite is the black one since it’s the most unique in colour (plus I love its benefits), however, I did find that I had to take a washcloth to make sure I got all the product off, plus it can be a little messy if you get this in your sink.

These cleansers are based off the Pure-Clay masks that the brand currently carries. They also have a new formula to add to the line up, the Comforting and Unifying Mask. This blue mask features seaweed to comfort and unify irritated skin. In addition to the seaweed, it also features the same three premium clays as the other formulas and the new cleansers.

I love doing masks on a chill Sunday night while watching reality TV and although I do like sheet masks, I much prefer a clay mask. I find that these penetrate my skin better (plus I don’t have to worry about constantly adjusting the sheet. I’ve used this mask a couple times and loved how radiant my skin felt after I washed it off. I usually left it on for at least half an hour, which is longer than they say on the packaging, but I feel like the longer it’s on, the better it will be for your skin. This does dry down, but it doesn’t turn grey or anything like Glam Glow does.

This mask retails for an SRP of C$14.99, which is a total steal considering how much product you get. A little goes a long way, so you’ll have this in your medicine cabinet for a while.

Have you tried the new L’Oreal Paris Pure-Clay products?

Please note, I received this product from PR. All opinions are my own.
