Cheers to 150! Celebrating Canada Day long weekend with McCafé Summer Drink Days

Our nation’s largest party in 150 years is coming up this weekend! I feel like every Canadian has been waiting for this day, and it’s hard not to notice that retailers and restaurants are also celebrating with #Canada150 products

To join in on the celebrations, I’ll be kicking off the long weekend with a drink in hand, decked out in all-Canadian gear, at Canada’s favourite summer beverage destination, McCafé, which offers Canadians a wide range of high-quality beverages, many of which are only a dollar all summer long (cue jingle).

Since this Canada Day is a milestone for our nation, there are so many events that will be held across the city. One of my favourite Canada Day locations is Assiniboine Park, where they always have stuff going on during July 1. Since this year is extra special, I plan on hitting the park early, getting a stellar spot for the festivities, and doing a picnic complete with all my favourite items from McDonald’s Canada.

Since it’s going to be hot, there’s nothing like cooling off with the McCafé Premium Roast Ice Coffee, which features the same consistently rich, smooth and delicious Premium Roast coffee but serviced over ice and customized to your preferences (I love adding a shot of sugar-free vanilla, or if I’m really treating myself, caramel). If you’re looking to really splurge, I suggest trying the McCafé Iced Frappes, like the Coffee Iced Frappe or the Vanilla Chai Iced Frappe, which feature a combination of vanilla and chai flavours, including cinnamon and nutmeg.

If you’re not a coffee fan, then the McCafé Frozen Real Lemonade or Real Fruit Smoothies, which are made with real fruit, are low in fat, and blended with ice, are a real treat. There are four flavours to choose from, but I’m totally digging the limited-time-only Strawberry Mango Orange flavour.

Best part of all this are the prices. To keep you cool this long weekend (and all summer long), any small or medium McCafé Premium Roast Iced Coffee or small Frozen Lemonade are only $1, and any small McCafé Real Fruit Smoothie and small McCafé Iced Frappe are only $2.

If coffee or smoothies aren’t your jam, there’s nothing like a classic ice-cold Coke to cool off on a hot day and all fountain drinks (any size!) are also $1.

I’m literally counting down the days until the weekend and picking out my most on-trend Canadian outfit. The hard part though will be deciding which McCafé summer drink I want to toast 150 years with!

What drink are you most excited to get during McDonald’s Summer Drink Days?

Please note, I partnered with McDonalds Canada on this post. All opinions are my own.
