I love CoverGirl foundations. I’ve been using the popular drugstore brand’s foundations for a number of years now and whenever they release a new one, I just need to try it out to see how it compares to their other formulas. When I saw the new Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation on store shelves, I jumped at the chance to give it a whirl on my skin.
Available in 13 shades, this foundation is infused with vitamins E, B3, B5, and SPF 20, promising you healthy skin and sun protection, all in one bottle. The formula is designed to give you the appearance of healthy-looking skin and helps to correct, protect, and perfect. The finish is full coverage and delivers a glowing, healthy look.
I received the shade 632, Nude Beige, and although it’s a little tan for my skin it suits my face nicely when I’m sporting a self tanner. I was actually going out on Saturday night and although I reserve my NARS Sheer Glow or Marc Jacobs ReMarcable foundation for special nights out, I wanted to give this a try since it said it was full coverage.
I did my eye makeup first then applied this foundation with my Tarte sponge and I have to say that when I first applied it, it left me with a finish similar to NARS Sheer Glow. It’s a light formula with a heavy coverage, perfect for a Saturday night out. The colour was a tad too dark, but I still made it work. Although I love CoverGirl foundations in general, this one really did look and feel amazing on my skin.
I didn’t get the chance to take after photos when I got home (too much wine!), but my makeup did still look on point, even after six hours. If you are looking for a great full-coverage foundation for special nights out, I would look into this one. Plus, I love all the extra skin-nourishing properties in the formula, and the SPF is perfect if you want to rock this in the summer (at a music festival, perhaps?).
CoverGirl, you did it again, this one is a winner.
Have you tired the CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation?
