The multipurpose cleanser: Biore Baking Soda Cleansers

Title I’m a huge baker.  Cookies, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, I would totally rather spend time in the kitchen whipping up something sweet rather than a salty snack. Whatever you’re making, baking soda is usually on the recipe card. This ingredient is also a great product to have on hand for cleaning, and, totally unrelated to baking or cleaning, it’s also a song by Tyga.

Okay, all jokes aside, when I got the Influenster Voxbox, which features the Biore Baking Soda Cleansers, I was a little surprised to see this ingredient in here.  Apparently baking soda has the natural ability to deep clean and gently exfoliate, which makes it perfect for the fight for clean pores.

Products

I received the Biore Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and the Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser, both of which purify pores, absorb oil and gently exfoliate skin.  My favourite product of the two is the cleansing scrub, as it actually looks like baking soda itself.  It’s a white powder that you dispense in your hands and then with some water, it turns into a foamy scrub, which helps exfoliate the skin, remove makeup, and leaves you with a fresh feeling.  You can increase the intensity of the product by just adding more water.

As for the cleanser, this is a gel product that features a pump top to dispense the product. It’s a daily gel cleanser with exfoliating beads that penetrate the pores for a deep clean. Both products are great for combination skin.

Baking soda Biore Gel Cleanser

I actually really like these products. I find the cleansing scrub to be so unique, and it also leaves you with a baking soda feeling even after it’s washed away. It’s a hard feeling to explain, it kinda feels like how baking soda smells, if that makes sense. I do feel like both of these products exfoliate and cleanse my skin nicely, I didn’t have any issues with breakouts. Aside from the actual powder to liquid formula in the cleansing scrub, which is more like a wow factor, there isn’t really anything in these that go above and beyond just cleansing the skin. I didn’t look at my skin and say “wow, I look amazing”, it just looked the same.

Overall, if you are looking for an affordable cleanser, I would give these a try.  The cleansing scrub is on sale right now on the London Drugs site for $10.99, whereas the pore cleanser is $6.99.

Have you tried the Biore Baking Soda line?

Please note, I received these products courtesy of Influenster. All opinions are my own.
