Black + white: Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner

MJ title Eyeliners are getting smaller and smaller.

Back in December I got a huge box of the new spring releases from Maybelline. Among other things, they included the Master Precise Skinny liner, which features a 1.8 mm micro tip for precise application. I didn’t really give these much thought since they were so small, but then my attitude changed late last week.

I received the Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner (C$30) in the two shades it was released in, Blacquer and (Big)Eyes! (a white). These are new for spring at Sephora, and like the Maybelline version, feature an ultra-skinny tip.

Providing the same smooth glide and payoff as Marc Jacobs’ Highliner Gel Eye Crayon (which are also amazing), these have a two-millimetre, unbreakable tip delivering a gel consistency in either ultra black (Blacquer) or a bright white (Big)Eyes!.

Liners Eyeliner tips

Unlike pencil liner, this has a mechanical casing, which you twist to dispense the product, however, once it’s up, you cannot retract it. The colour does glide on the lids and provides a nice opacity. I used the black on my upper lash line and then the white on my waterline. The black stayed on quite well throughout the day, however, the white did fade after a few hours.

I do have to say that the colour did glide on quite well. There was no tugging or pulling and I felt like it gave a nicer, deeper colour than traditional pencil liners. I also like how you’ll never have to sharpen the product and especially how it didn’t break off at the end (retractable eyeliners have a tendency to do this for me – so annoying!).

Eyes

If you are a pencil liner kinda gal, I would look into picking this up. I’ve always been a fan of Marc Jacobs’ eyeliners in general, so with this one being so small, it’s a nice product to have in your collection.

Will you be picking up Marc Jacobs’ Fineliner?

Please note, this set was sent by PR. All opinions are my own.
