A {tarte} summer threesome

tarte title Guys, it’s almost the end of July.

Once we hit August, that “oh my gosh, summer is almost over” panic starts to hit, and we try to get as much beach/pool/sun time as we can.

Although I don’t wear nearly as much makeup in the summer compared to the fall and winter (who wants all that stuff on your face when it’s hot and humid out?), I do have a few must-have items that are necessities.

Sunscreen

This one is a must. Since no one wants skin cancer, it’s advisable to rock a sunscreen in some capacity. Tarte offers their tarteguard 30 moisturizing sunscreen lotion. This face sunscreen offers Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB protection and a generous SPF 30. A non-chemical sunscreen that helps protect, moisturize, brighten and re-invigorate skin for a youthful-looking appearance? Yes, please! The formula is also infused with their cult-fave maracuja oil, as well as red algae, soybean, apple and honeysuckle extracts to nourish, tone and retain moisture, while helping to combat the signs of aging.

Wear this under your foundation or alone so you don’t have to worry as much about those pesky (but much-loved) sunrays.

Mascara

Another staple for any weather, mascara helps open up the eyes and make you look fresh and awake.

I’ve been a fan of tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 mascara. for a few years since it lengthens, curls, volumizes and conditions.

Hitting the pool? Try the waterproof version, since no one likes looking like a raccoon.

Bronzer

Finally, if you are like me and don’t tan so well, you can fake it and bake it with some bronzer. Tarte’s best-selling matte bronzing powder in Park Avenue Princess is made with Amazonian clay, which is nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer, and truer wear. This bronze goddess is great for adding a subtle glow on the cheeks, or for contouring to really sculpt that face for a night out. Best of all, the Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer is just that, waterproof, meaning you won’t sweat or swim it off. Hot stuff!

I try to keep it simple in the summertime, but still make sure I wear all the necessities to really bring out that summertime glow.

What are your summer essentials?
