Blushed: A look feat. L’Oreal Paris La Palette Nude 02

Title

So since I got that HUGE goodie bag from the London Drugs fall beauty preview, I couldn’t wait to dive in and try some of the stuff out. One of the items I was most excited to get my hands on was the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude 02, which is L’Oreal Paris’ version of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

The Colour Riche La Palette Nude (there’s two of them) contains 10 shades that range from light to dark in three finishes: satin, matte, and sheen. It also contains a double-ended brush, with a foam applicator on one end and a brush on the other, as well as a mirror.

Luckily I also got a ton of other products to complete the look, including the Cargo HD Picture Perfect Liquid Foundation, which is an oil-free foundation that provides medium to full coverage; the Emani Perfect 10 Primer Serum, which promotes microcirculation in the epidermis with ginkgo biloba extract and calms the skin with chamomile and witch hazel, among other things; the Emani HD Corrective Concealer, a full-coverage matte concealer, as well as the Prestige Cosmetics Brow Kit, among other products.

Steps 1. With shade 3 (a matte dusty rose) from the L’Oreal palette, sweep this lightly in your crease area, just to act as a transition shade.

2. With colour 2, a shimmery pink-peach, apply this on the lids.

3. For the crease, apply colour 6, a matte brown, to darken it up.

4. For the liner, I used Prestige Cosmetics Total Intensity liner in brown, which I find is less harsh on blue eyes. I wanted to keep the loo soft and romantic and find that black can tend to be a bit dramatic.

5. For the face, I first used Emani Perfect 10 Primer Serum, then Cargo HD Picture Perfect Liquid Foundation.  For the brows, I filled them in using the Prestige Cosmetics brow palette, which includes two shades and a concealer, as well as a mini pair of tweezers and a brush.

6. To finish up the eyes, I applied a coat of mascara (Rimmel London ScandalEyes XX-Treme) and popped on some falsies (I believe these were Ardell).

7. To finish up the face, I used Emani HD Corrective Concealer and for the lips I used Rimmel London Oh My Gloss! in Glossaholic.

Overall, I found the eyeshadow palette to be okay. Granted this was the first time I’ve used it so I definitely want to work with it more to get a better idea of all the colours.  I found the shades to be on the light side, meaning they weren’t as opaque as I would have liked them.

As for the other products, I absolutely loved them.  If you want a picture-perfect foundation, the Cargo HD is amazing. I couldn’t believe how flawless my face looked in the photos.  This would be perfect grad or wedding foundation, and it’s quite high coverage, so it covers everything.

Aside from the makeup, for my hair I used the John Freida Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery line (also given away from the LDBeauty event).  It left my hair shiny and definitely frizz free.

Have you tried any these products?  What were your thoughts?
