Yves Rocher’s new lipsticks are ‘da balm

Title

As much as I love rocking a darker lip, the maintenance of it is such a turn-off for me that I will often pass on some of my darker colours to rock a lighter one instead.  Instead of carrying around a deep shade, plus a liner, plus a gloss, a good cheat is to just rock a coloured balm.

Yves Rocher recently released a new line of lipsticks that have the colour of a lipstick, the moisture of a balm, and the shine of a gloss.  Available in 12 shades, Yves Rocher’s Sheer Botanical Lipsticks are infused with cherry oil, which gives extraordinary shine and light refraction powers.  It’s also rich in Omega 6 and 9, which are natural sources of protection and nutrition.

I received six shades from the line, everything from a bright pink to a burgundy, to corals. These lipsticks are quite sheer, but have buildable colour, which is perfect for the darker shades, making them a bit easier to work with.  The texture is similar to a balm, so they are quite moisturizing, but I did find that my lips feel dry once they start to wear away, so I had to keep reapplying the product to keep the moisture.

My favourite shade from the ones I received is Corail Doux.  These do have English names as well, but mine all have the French labels on them. I believe the English version of that one is Soft Coral.

Overall, I was impressed with these, mostly because some of the colours I received aren’t typically colours I would gravitate towards, however, once I tried them on, they were quite impressive. These retail on Yvesrocher.ca for $17 but they have a sale going on right now for $9.50 each.

Will you be trying out Yves Rocher’s Sheer Botanical lipsticks?
