Free fall: Fall lips + eyes
Fall is finally upon us and the clothes get darker and the makeup more harsh. No matter the season, I do sport nude or pink lips year round, but every so often I feel like a oxblood lip; it’s so chic and in style.
When I sport a dark or red lip, I usually tend to keep the eyes at a minimal (mascara and eyeliner), but for this look, I went with a darker lid to make it more editorial. The key with this is less is more. You don’t want to over do it.
I started off putting Teddy Bear by Too Faced cosmetics lightly in my crease. This colour is just to add a bit of a shadow to your eye area. There are numerous matte brown shadows out there, a good dupe is Buck by Urban Decay, which can be found in their Naked palette. From there, I lightly tapped my eyeshadow brush into Cherry Cola and applied this to my lids.
To finish up the eye area, I took a black pencil liner and applied this to my upper lash line, smudging it out, then added two coats of mascara. For the lower lash line, I added Teddy Bear to create some depth.
The lips are where the look really lies. The only darker colours I own are Lady Tremaine from Sephora x Disney’s Cinderella collection, which sad to say, did not age well at all (it’s less than a year old). The colour goes on quite chalky and the product is already dried out. Over top, I layered the Sea Witch lipgloss from Sephora x Disney’s Ariel collection, which is the hardest gloss I have ever had to work with.
And there you have it. Fall’s hottest trend, plus a simple way to do it.
Will you be rocking deep lips this season?
