Eye-catching colour! Make your eyes pop with makeup

title If I had to choose my favourite feature, I can answer that question in a heartbeat.  I get compliments about my eyes allllll the time and most times when I hear “you have such beautiful eyes” my answer is “I know” (I have gotten better at it recently, and just answer back with a modest “thank you”).

This week’s FASHION magazine challenge was how to play up your eye colour.  My eyes range from blue to turquoise so I have mastered the “come hither” effect quite nicely by now, but it’s not the typical colours you would think that I use to make them irresistible.

The most common colours to make blue eyes pop are pinks and purple, don’t ask me why, but they somehow make blue eyes look amazing.  I have some pinks in my collection, but I don’t often reach for them.  Instead, I will grab my trusted Naked palette and pop on some golds like no one’s business.  I find that darker colour make my eyes pop way more than the lighter-toned pinks and purples.

For this particular look, I laid down Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, then started working Darkhorse into the crease.  From there, I grabbed Half Baked and put that on the inner corners of my eyes and into the middle.  Lastly, I used Smog for the centre of my lids.  With a fluffy brush, I grabbed Buck and blended everything together. For the lower lash line, which really adds definition, I put Smog with Rimmel London’s ScandalEyes eyeliner in Nude on my waterline.

Finish off with some bronzer, black eyeliner, and mascara.  Oh!  And don’t forget to pair this look with a pinky-nude lipstick to really make the focus on your eyes.
