Green Smoke

A while back I was watching a video by Pixiwoo and she did a really bold green smokey eye. I used to be all about the smokey eye and sometimes I still wear it every here and there but mostly I like wearing something more casual.  Anyways, I loved Pixiwoo’s take on it because it’s still sexy and bold but it’s not your traditional smokey look.  The dark green really puts a nice twist on it.  I chose to not go as bold as she did, but I prefer the more subtle look anyways.

Here’s what I did to pull it off:

Starting off with an eyeshadow primer (I used Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray), apply this all over your lid to your eyebrow, as well as under your eyes and blend.

Using a creamy-white colour, like MAC’s Phloof! eyeshadow, apply this to your brow bone and your inner eye area as a highlight.

Using a cream base (I used the green colour in the Make Up For Ever 12 Color Flash Palette), apply this over your entire lid area and along your lower lash line.  It’s okay if the colour is not blended, this is just to darken up the eyeshadow we are going to put on top.

Using a dark green colour, like MAC’s Bottle Green (a Pro shade), apply this all over your lid and a little into the crease covering the green base you previously applied.

With a fluffy crease brush, like Inglot’s 6SS, blend the crease area so the lines aren’t as harsh.

Next, grab that green eyeshadow again and apply it over the green base on your bottom lash line. Using your fingers, blend it out.

To finish up the look apply a black liquid eyeliner along your upper lash line and a pencil one along your lower lash line, your waterline, and your tightline.  I used MAC’s Liquid Eye Liner in Black and Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Liner in Black.

Next, curl your lashes and apply some mascara, and if you so wish, pop on some falsies to complete the look.  I used Makeup Designory cream mascara and the lashes are cat eye ones from Forever 21.

The last step is to apply some concealer underneath your eyes to freshen up the look and make sure there is no fall out.  After that you are done!

Lipstick is MAC's Innocence, Beware!

Let me know what you think of the completed look and if you tried it out.

Happy Monday!
